The idea of fabric manipulation which are quilted sleeves and collar are drawn from one of the physical restraints used in the asylum to prevent patients from harming themselves. Meanwhile, the gathers on the jacket and pants are intended to portray their mixed and miserable feelings and thoughts. The chosen embellishment, a safety pin, symbolizes the tool often used for self-harm.

The choice of using this fabric is to symbolize the profound meaning that even during the most challenging phases of mental illness, there is always a rainbow after the rain and a beacon of light at the end of the tunnel. The fabric’s unique texture is a powerful representation of hope and resilience for individuals facing mental health challenges. Just as the fabric's surface creates a mesmerizing play of light, it symbolizes the presence of inner strength and the potential for healing and growth within every mental health patient.

The concept for the silhouette of the outerwear draws inspiration from the straitjacket. The manipulation of the quilted fabric is reminiscent of one of the physical restraints used in asylums to prevent patients from harming themselves. Meanwhile, the ruched pants symbolize their mixed and often miserable feelings and thoughts that they keep hidden. The embellishment used prominently is the safety pin, representing the tool most commonly used by individuals to harm themselves.

The choice of color is derived from the green ribbon, which symbolizes mental health awareness. The green ribbon’s purpose is to raise awareness and support good mental health. Green is widely associated with tranquility and restfulness. It’s a soothing color that can promote harmony and alleviate anxiety.

The concept of oversized lapels and hoodies is meant to portray that mental disorder patients should take a bigger leap in battling the illness, stepping out of their comfort zone and putting in considerable effort to overcome their feelings if they truly want to recover. Meanwhile, the placement of safety pins slowly fades to show the phase where patients are gradually recovering.

The idea of choosing mental health as an inspiration is to give more awareness about how severe mental disorder is if we neglect it and make fun of it since laymen equate mental illness with ‘madness’ and often overlook the symptoms of the disease thus mental illness is a medical condition.
